Coos Bay Crabbing Trips - $125 per person
The holiday season is just about here and nothing is better than gathering with friends and family and enjoying fresh Dungeness crab that you caught yourself in the cold, clean waters of the Oregon Coast. Wild Rivers Fishing is running fall crabbing trips in Coos Bay, home of the very best recreational crabbing on the West Coast. The calm, protected waters of the bay give sport crabbers access to big, tasty Dungeness and red rock crab. You can keep 12 Dungeness a day, along with 24 Red Rocks. We crab out of a comfortable, covered, heated jet boat and crab with both pots and rings. We usually soak the pots for the entire tide, and check rings regularly, for a fast-paced, fun-filled day on the water. Limits are common. I can bait and pull all the gear, or you can be involved as much as you want to. This a great trip for families, fathers and sons, or groups of best friends.
After the trip I clean and cook the crabs right at the boat ramp, sending you home with a cooler full of the best-tasting crab you've ever eaten. This is one of my favorite trips. Cost is $125 per person, three person minimun, or $275 for two people.

Winter Lingcod/Rockfish Trips - $125 per person
Some of the best lingcod fishing of the entire year on the Oregon Coast occurs during the winter out of Brookings, when thousands of lings move close to shore to spawn. When the ocean is calm from December through April, limits of lingcod can be caught within a few minutes of the mouth of the Chetco River. Wild Rivers Fishing uses a heavy duty welded Alumaweld jet boat to fish above shallow reefs where lingcod spawn. After the big female spawns, smaller male lings in the 5- to 10-pound range spend a couple months guarding the nests. They are very aggressive biters can be caught be anglers using light gear and jigs or live bait. Limits of rockfish are also caught while fishing for lingcod. The daily limit for lingcod is two fish over 22 inches and the daily limit for rockfish is six. Six-hour trips run $85 per person with a three-person minimum. All bait and tackle is provided.
Brookings has the safest ocean crossing on the Oregon Coast and offers more fishable days during the winter than any other port. Capt. Andy Martin is licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard and Oregon State Marine Board to run ocean charter trips. He is one of the few Oregon fishing guides who can run river and saltwater trips. In the summer, Andy runs a charter boat in the Gulf of Alaska for halibut. He returns to his hometown of Brookings during the fall and winter to run guided ocean and river fishing trips.
